If you are interested in Japanese history and samurai, you can deepen your understanding by knowing “The Heike Story”(Heike Monogatari) .
Most Japanese learn “The Heike Story” in high school.
Just as American children memorized Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” we memorized the opening sentences of “The Heike Story(Heike Monogatari)”.
You can also learn about “The Heike Story” through manga (anime). The animation is a very beautiful work.
In the late 12th century, Taira no Kiyomori of the Heike clan laid the foundation for the samurai era. The Japanese language is a little complicated. Please memorize the name “Taira no Kiyomori” and the word “HEIKE”.

殆どの日本人は、高校で「平家物語」を学びます。
アメリカの子供たちがマーチン・ルーサー・キングの「I Have a Dream」を暗記したように、私たちは学校で「平家物語」の冒頭の文章を暗記しました。
12世紀後半、平家の平清盛が武士の時代の礎を築きました。
日本語は少し複雑なんです。
とりあえず平清盛の名前と「平家」という言葉を覚えてください。

そして、私が住んでいる下関の「壇ノ浦の戦い」では平家がここで終焉を迎え、いつもウォーキングに行っている壇ノ浦、関門海峡に沢山の人の命が沈みました。
平家の物語を感じたくて、2022年に下関に引っ越しました。
