I’m reading this book now.

It is an essay by Ryu Murakami nearly 40 years ago.

There are so many words that stick like a knife.

When I say “stabbing”, I mean this young man is in pain, he grabs a knife and stabs himself, and he stabs “society” called “Japan”. I am also pierced.

“I’m so frustrated and hardly accept.
I was born on the side of a defeated country. the war before I was born, I was regulated in certain ways. It’s getting complicated and getting more difficult. ”

“And it also instilled in me the “U.S.A. mixed-race sensibilities.”

“It was natural that Yukio Mishima, who was really smart, and Yasunari Kawabata, whose sensibilities were connected to Japan, were in despair. If I say that It’s like old writers, they even don’t commit suicide but criticize literature. I completely cannot understand.”

Ryu Murakami’s fundamental theme and core may remain the same. Each person’s fundamental theme is different.

As far as I can remember, I’ve been following music and World War II since I was 14 years old. My views change depending on my experiences and phases, but even after 40 years, this is still my theme.

In 1985, Ryu Murakami was in his early 30s. It’s very pure and straightforward. I’m glad he’s alive. After all, Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Yukio Mishima committed suicide.

However, the word “survival” often appears in his works.

One of the reasons he didn’t die may be Cuba and music. He said he was “reborn” after he encountered Cuba. Not only was he hooked on Cuban salsa, but it had a really important meaning in his life.

How should I write that?

I think that after his work “KYOKO(1995-1996)”(in the U.S. “Because of You” which is when he shot a movie. He overcame the pain that came with the relationship between the U.S.A. And his style and themes changed completely. This is my view.

However, from the perspective of previous users (readers) and consumers, they may wonder, “What happened?”

For example, something like this happened a long time ago.

In the 1980s, a Japanese musician named Motoharu Sano went to New York, and after a few months there, his sound completely changed. At that time, many consumers left and I stopped listening to it as well. Users and consumers say irresponsible things about the product (or person).

Now, for some reason, I’m becoming a researcher about Ryu Murakami.

He is probably a novelist who wrote about Japanese society and the mind after the defeat in the war.

And he translated into literature the conflicts of that era and the distortions caused by the defeat, which many Japanese people turn a blind eye to. Perhaps he is an important writer who was able to leave behind a legacy.

World War II, U.S.A., music, Cuba. Japan. These are themes that I’m doing. I’m working hard.

Why am I doing this?

Defeat in World War II, U.S.A., music, Cuba. I am trying to create a website page based on my own words and Ryu Murakami’s words in his books, in English, Spanish, and Japanese.

I’m working hard because there are so many things I want to convey.
